Election of First ANNS Executive Committee and Board of Directors

The Election Committee was named at the July 5, 2015 meeting of the ANNS Board of Directors and community. The Election Committee, in agreement with the Bylaws, conducted the election process for the four executive committee positions, the five executive committee general officers, and the four members of the board of directors. No member of the Election Committee was a candidate for ANNS office.

By the General Assembly meeting, held on August 8, 2015, there were 14 candidates. One each for the President, Vice President, Treasurer and General Secretary, one for each of the four Board of Director Positions, and six candidates for the five general officer positions.

One candidate for the general officer position was unable to attend the meeting and requested that his name be removed from the slate of candidates, leaving one candidate for each position.

At the General Assembly meeting, 70 % of the paid charter members were present. This meets the quorum requirement of fifty-one percent of members.Each candidate was individually affirmed by the Election Committee chair. There were no opposing votes. Each officer was given Tika by Mr. Surya Thapa and presented with flowers by Ms. Nirja Kafle.

As directed by the Bylaws, the Election Committee has been dismissed since the new Board has been formed.
