Message from former President (2015-2017)

Dr. Ashok Sedhain

Namaste,

Respected seniors, friends and families,

Together with the elected executives and board of directors (BODs) of Albany New York Nepalese Society (ANNS), I wish you a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year 2016!

It is my distinct honor and privilege to assume the role of ANNS first president. I am grateful to all who have made significant contribution to create a common platform for all with ties to Nepal and an interest to Nepal related activities of any nature such as cultural, social, economic etc. The visionary commitment of our seniors bringing the Nepalese in Albany area together is highly appreciated, which seeded the process of forming a bigger family miles away from our families back home. Through the organization and working together, we can achieve the most in fostering our richest culture, teaching them to our children and the world, and build up cordial relationship with local communities, authorities, and national/international organizations in the area we live.

I thank you everyone who have joined the organization already. ANNS greatly appreciates the financial support from our members and donors during the fund raising campaign for relief of earthquake victims recently. We were able to deliver over 1.5 million rupees to government of Nepal through Prime minister Oli. Our organization grows in multiple ways only through your participation and voices. I, therefore, encourage and welcome everyone in the community to join us, participate in our events, and speak up with any ideas you envision.

As always, please let myself or one of our team members know if you have any questions or suggestions.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Sedhain
(President)
